Remarks: A popular service suite for Singaporeans because of its location just across the road from Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC).

AWANA GENTING HIGHLANDS GOLF & COUNTRY RESORT

Remarks: The hotel, which is less than 2 hours' drive from KL, is good getaway from the city. The mountain air is cool and refreshing but the hotel is not exactly at the top of Genting Highlands where all the action is. But one can easily take a cable ride from the hotel to the summit. The buffet lunch here is great, too.

Remarks: The Lodge is located at Cyberjaya, KL's equivalent of Silicon Valley, about half-an-hour's drive away from the city. The service here is excellent and the landscaped garden befits a 5-star resort. A good place to visit for a quick getaway from the city. The spa here is also legendary.

Note: The hotel has been around ever since Genting Highlands was builted decades ago. However, recent refurbishments improved some hotel facilities but service is still not up to par, especially during peak periods.

Remarks: The hotel was recently refurbished and the rooms are quite nicely done for the price. Although it's located at Petaling Jaya, away from the city centre, there is a train station nearby and taxis are easy to catch. Highly recommended.

Rates: The rooms at the Executive floor are a bargain at RM340++. This includes breakfast for two and unlimited visits to a small lounge for tea and snacks on the executive floor.
